Cheap as heck, but nice
Once again Sussen/Highland arms is selling inexpensive, but nice sgian dubh. OK, they aren't top end (someday I will have to post pics of my collection), but they are servicable. Great for those occassions when you want one, but don't want to have a good one. Not to mention this one cost $9.95!

This seller can have a great knock off of a top end knife. I bought one of his "stag horn" knives for US$15 that looked like a more expensive knife. This is that knife:

So, it isn't a Rab Gordon or one from The Real Sgian Dubh Company, but they do the trick if you are looking for a good entry level knife while you save for something better.

Close enough compared to my two real stag ones (one bought from Caulfield leather).

Some time back I bought three cheap (very) ones on e-Bay for $9.95+shipping. . . one lost the "stone" and the blade came loose. I still have two others, and they hold an edge surprisingly well. Of course the blade is in "backward", and I am thinking of getting a bone to use as a handle and remounting the broken one. If I do, I'll post pictures. I do have a really nice one, but I only wear that for dress occasions, if I lose one of these, no big problem.

What do you mean, "backward"?

Can't beat those prices; very impressive.

Well, the el-cheapo showed up today (about two days after I bought it). It's nice enough for the price.

How are the fittings? Is the blade (or any hardware) loose at all?
I know it's only $9.95 but you're inside information now!

I have the stag horn one for my reenactment outfit. It looks killer in pictures, and I don't have to worry about losing my $80 formal one. Personally, I think that for the price, they're worth getting. As the original poster said, not top end usable knives, but great looking in the sock. Or in my case, boot.

Nothing is loose on mine. Just don't try to use it to cut anything with more resistance than a Kit Kat wrapper. I learned that the hard way and had to epoxy my stag horn blade back on.
