Rumors of the Saltaire at Balloon Fiesta 09

This day news of the great air ship Saltaire may be making its eventful way to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 2009! The Airship has been sighted in places as far flung as the heather and heath of Scotland herself to recently in a wee small town in B.C. Canada!

A Gathering of Kilted members of the SSS (Saltaire Support Society AKA X marks the Scot) is also rumored to be in the works. The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is the oldest and largest lighter than air gathering in the world. Well over 800 hot air balloons lift off in mass ascensions, gather for contest of pilot skill, and general good times. Balloonists from all over the world are commonly in attendance, as well as an influx of visitors from all over the world.

While still over 11 months away this rumored event seems to remain in shrouded in mystery, as more details become available we will keep you apprised.

Last I heard it was still in BC, but I wouldn't really think of Victoria as a small town even though it certainly has that appeal. I am hoping the Saltire makes it back to the lower mainland next weekend. Eleven months is a long time so who knows where she'll end up. Keep an out and let us know if she shows up at the event

That sounds absolutely fantastic!

The hope is that she will return to the Nor Cal Rabble for their Burns night Supper at the beginning of next year, but rest assured she will be sent out shortly thereafter to continue her travels.

I think that we may need to make a rule about how long she stays in one place...our friends in BC have been hogging her for a couple of months now

I will happily inspect and provide a full report of the condition of said zeppelin...I suspect that there have been some highly technical as well as highly secret modifications made while in the care and custody of the Wizard. Again, I suspect that I will not be able to pass on the report to many of you...as I will have to employ someone to review clearance levels before disemination of said report (Since Big Mikey has instigated, (or is that instituted) the DHS, I will probably contract with him and his for the checking and vetting)...this checking will not include kilt checks... so Brother Grant will remain S.O.L!!!
