Maybe I shouldnt say this - but I bought my Braemar jacket with kilt years ago and always felt it wasnt quite the full hog (maybe thats a UK thing?) so for my sisters wedding this year I stumped up for a PC from ebay. Brand new for £80 inc postage.... which I think was a bargain..... I also bought a fly plaid - it was top class and I felt GREAT in it - turning heads etc.... sure it cost a few quid to pull together but a lot less doing it myself than asking a Highland Wear shop to sort it out...

New here, but...
I'd agree that the 3 button waistcoat would look great. However, I do like lapel pins and think, when done tastefully, they can look very good.

But only one lapel badge at a time.
I belong to several organizations where members attempt to out-do each other by wearing every lapel badge in their collection.

I can see how that would be... annoying.
Isn't that called "flare" amongst waitstaff at Applebee's, Chili's, etc?
I generally wear one, and one only. Usually it's USMC-related.

I always thought it looked more like a very bad imitation of a WWII Soviet Field Marshall myself.

The only time a lapel pin should not be worn is when you are also wearing orders, decorations, or medals.

Have a fun evening Greg, and be sure to post lots of pictures for us. I'm sure you will look very sharp in your chosen outfit. I think that a small sprig would look fine on your lapel as long as you don't overdo it.
