I've been thinking of instaling a length of pegboard in or next to my closet, and using some of those really neat pegboard hooks and hangers for some of my clothing items. I already have a few hooks for belts and so on, but I have a very limited closet space. I bet there are a few different ways a sporran could be attached. I've been giving serious consideration myself to storage for my kilts & accessories, rather than having some items in the closet (hanging from the rod or upon the shelf) or in a dresser drawer etc etc.
I'm awaiting to see what I inherit of my dear departed grandparents furniture before I take the next step, but I've been giving consideration to locating a nice Armoire & line the closet space (& drawers) with Red /Spanish Cedar where I can hang my kilts & any woolen items (jackets, vests, caps) and utilize the drawers for storage of hose, garters, sporrans, belts, etc etc.
You get the idea 
There-by (finally) keeping everything together so I'm not hunting all over for it & also protecting it from the elements (moths etc).
