Can't say as I know what's going on, either..... My dealings with FC were outstanding! It was, like yours, a special order, and I waited about 8 weeks. The only glitch I experienced was in delivery (USPS). Mike talked with me several times, and, between him and the Post Office, they got it all straightened out pretty quickly.
My personal experience was good.

I rather dislike forming negative opinions of others and typically seek reasons to disprove a negative presentation...guess that's the social worker in me. With that in mind, I just received an email from Mark. He flat out admitted their site screwed up, and offered me a 35% coupon for my next purchase through their site. Additionally, my items have shipped out with an additional bonus item (don't know what that is). Regardless, I'm greatly impressed by anyone who admits they made an error and are willing to try to fix it.

I've discovered that when mistakes are made, merchants usually go above and beyond the call of duty to make things right. I'm glad to hear everything worked out. So, which kilt are ya gonna get with your new discounted coupon?

I'd agree with your statement, the problem I am not impressed by a vendor that admits to making a mistake ONLY after action is threatened or the words 'file a fraud complaint against you' are mentioned.
A respectable vendor would admit to a mistake willingly and as soon as the first contact is made, reading your ordeal account, not after months of attempts to get an answer.
I was going to buy some of their kilts to try them. not anymore I'm affraid.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with them. I gave them a try a while ago, and have nothing but positive things to say about FC.
To err is human, to admit it and try to make things right is what really counts. I'm glad to hear they are trying to make up for the mistake.
Reading all of the threads about FC, I've come to the conclusion that if you order something in stock, you won't have a problem. The negative comments seem to come from out of stock orders.
