    Check out Marton Mills, they do a lot in a poly/viscose (poly/rayon). Fabric looks and feels a lot like wool but without the disadvantages you mention.

    I'm sorry but I just checked Marton Mills and they do not currently offer a Black on Black Tartan in P/V. Although I am trying to do a special order.

    They do offer the Ben Dubh(Black Mount), Black Shadow, Black Isle in 13oz wool and Grey Shadow in 16oz. Wool.

    I have made myself a box-pleated in MMīs Ben Dubh 13 oz. wool.

    It is the only wool kilt I wear regularily, itīs gorgeous!!
