Just how far does this rabbit hole go?

Ok, ok, I know sometimes I am known to get enthusiastic about things, but this is crazy! I just placed an order for a new Gordon Tartan kilt from SWK. This is my second kilt in as many months.

The one person in my family who is really excited (besides me) my blessed 80 year old mother, she's itching to harness up her loam and weave me a "family" tartan. She also is volunteering to "help" me make a "few" kilts (she has about 15 yards of Maple leaf and about 8 yards of a modern Lindsay that I had no idea she had), I am supposed to get her a copy of the Art of Kilt Making!

Questions. Does this break with a fever, or do I get to meet the Queen of Hearts next? Just how far does this rabbit hole go?ith:

This rabbit hole goes very very deep... or at least as deep as your pockets go.

    Enjoy the ride.

What he said. I refuse to wear anything else now (if I can get away with it!).

Still looking for the bottom. My 63rd kilt arrived this week. I've sold off 31 that I outgrew or wanted to cash out to invest in better kilts so "only" have 32 left.

I think Ham is well into the 90s in his kilt collection.

Don't even think of all the deep kilt accessory shafts branching off of the main hole...

    Relax...its a fun addiction.

All right, here's how it works. You will get all set up with your kilts, then you will realize that you need other things. You will then get other things. At some point you will start wanting a better kilt, and you will realize the other things you got could have been better. You'll need new other things. You will end up with better other things than the new, better kilt, and you will need a better, new, better kilt.

You will start thinking about black tie and white tie events, and realize that none of the other things you have are going to make the cut at black tie events.

The hole ends when you have-in addition to all your other kilts and things-a Scottish handsewn tank with solid silver, engraved and monogrammed buckles; a doublet of some sort with real silver buttons; a seal skin sporran with solid silver cantle that matches the button and buckle designs; a pair of real patent leather pumps; and Scottish hand knitted Argyle hose that exactly match your tartan. I'm sure I missed something, but it's something like that.

When you have all that, you do it all again.

    That's what the rabbit said.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

You never know when you may need something to sleep under... or defend yourself with... or any of the numerous other uses they have. After all, a well informed hitchiker will never be without one.
