If I tell you that the hat really suits you, Jamie (which it does), I will be in danger of offending you when I go on to say ........... um......... er........ um ..............it is the sort of hat worn here mainly by elderly gentlemen!

I agree with Jock about the Panama if you want a hat mainly to shield you from that phenomenon we used to see over here, but seldom do nowadays - the sun! You know, I think, how much I detest headgear myself, but I do have a Panama and have been known to wear it with the kilt in years gone by. They do actually work quite well together - but not when dressed formally, of course!
