After the 8am service, I had an interesting conversation with two teenage brothers. Their parents were coming to the 10am service. They wanted to be doing something else at 10am, and their mother told them, ok, but you go to the 8am service! They had been in Scotland this past summer. They were very interested in my sermon, and took time with me to talk about it at some length. One said that he would like a kilt, the other wasn't ready. It was really a good discussion, as I don't usually have a lot of in-depth interaction with the youth. (I'm hired there part time and the youth program is the responsibility of others.) I think that they were actually glad that their parents insisted that they be there that morning. I passed the information on to the youth director, who is of Scottish heritage and is planning on a trip to Scotland next year and getting his first kilt. --- I expect that he will be a member of this board before too long.
