I too, have great nostalgia for the steam locomotives. Once I even got the chance to ride on a restored Baldwin decapod. . . It was the most bone jarring, hearing destroying half hour of my life! It is easy to see why they lost out to the diesel electrics, but still. . . . . I love the sound of the steam whistle off in the distance.

Great shots Alex good to see you as a boy, I well remember having a train go round the Christmas tree in years past, I suppose it's one of those interests that stays with you. The next time you are in Toronto remind me to take you to George's Trains.
