When I first started wearing a kilt, my wife and I would practice our dance moves. The effect was quite interesting when she wore her pleated skirt as well.

Totally agree that dancing in a kilt is such a great experience that once you've tried it, you will not want to dance wearing anything else.

Apparently there is a video of me dancing. I have not been able to find it as yet and I certainly want to see it before letting it out to the public, so to speak.

    Dancing in my kilt

I have a traditional (heavy mass) kilt and have attended several formal functions. At a number of professional events, a number of women complimented me on the kilt and said it looked better than they expected. The vast majority of people do not realize you do not rent or purchase a formal kilt "off the rack." When asked where I obtained my clothes I say, "Scotland." Frequently, men come up (physicians, attorneys, professionals) and say, "Your kilt really looks good, but I would never have the guts to wear that." A woman observed me sit down at one event (carefully smoothing the kilt behind as I sat). She emotionally exclaimed, "How did you know how to do that?!" I replied, "Lots of practice!"

Wear your kilt often with confidence and pride!
