Similar situation a couple of years ago...I was rushing to attend an event at my wife's Society and could not, even after ripping the closet apart, find that nice pair of black wool slacks that I had...so I threw on the kilt and shot out the door. Why the kilt? Couldn't find my pants.

You mom ought to lighten up...sounds like she's one-stop-shopping for insulting kilties, gay guys and crossdressers all at the same time. Not to overdo it but I know straight kilties and gay kilties, gay guys who would never wear a kilt and who would be insulted by the idea that they all wear dresses and crossdressers that would consider the kilt a man's garment and not wear it on those grounds.

Ma! Give it a rest!

Best
