International Nite at the High School
At my Daughter's high school, there are something like 63 countries represented in the students, with over 20 languages spoken, so to honor this diversity the school puts on an International Night every year. Kids perform songs, dance, and original poetry based on their cultural heritage. The performances are followed by a taste of the different countries foods in the cafeteria.
My little girl decided this was the year to sing Scotland the Brave, wearing her own ensemble of semi-highland dress that I think works quite well for a young lass.
Here are the two of us preparing to depart. I in my 18 oz Gordon by Way2fractious, J. Higgins braemar jacket, balmoral, and yellow Lewis hose, she in her USA Kilts PV mini-kilt by Kelly. She is also wearing a thrift store black velvet jacket with gold piping that really sets off the yellow stripe in her kilt , a tartan tam, and a pair of $15 calf-high moccasin boots from a sale at the Rugged Wearhouse with her cream hose just peeking over the tops (that last description is for Ted Crocker).

Here she is on stage. She put this together by herself, including the music. I'd never heard singing to bagpipes before. Sorry for the picture quality but I had to use available light.

I really like this last shot of her and a couple of pals walking away from the camera. She has such a straght back and a determined stride, and you can really see the swing she develops in those pleats.

You should be very proud of your daughter it takes a lot of strength to get out there on stage alone like that, let alone sing.
I'm sure she must be very grateful to have a father who cares enough to be involved.
You both look great and did the Scots proud at your event.
Cheers

Congratulations to the proud dad and the talented daughter. You both look wonderful. So,...did the school serve Haggis for the taste of Scotland?

No, not every country's cuisine was represented, and I had no time to get a table together for Scotland.
BTW, I posted a correction above on which kilt I was wearing - it was the 18 oz Gordon by W2F.
