Make sure your hose are wool, boxers or shorts help. I wore my 22 oz WPG Seaforth Highlanders kilt to church yesterday. It was a balmy 15º F with a brisk breeze, but I was toasty warm except for my kneecaps.

Here in northern New England, wintertime is definitely the season that tests one's true commitment to staying "regimental" . . so far, I 've persevered, and haven't needed to surrender the tradition.
My best advice for outdoor activities: keep moving, keep drinking, keep your head & hands covered, and retire those GB's for a stout pair of stompers!
To the inevitable: "Aren't you cold like that?!" query, my favorite response is: "Aye, but the cold keeps things fresh!"
