Not Kilted Today
I've got my long underwear on against the winter storm. This is the first Friday since August, that I've worn trousers.
May when it warms up to Freezing I can dress properly.

I'm thinking that I should have packed my WPG in the truck today since I may be walking home....

It's not as cold here as where you all are(we are experiencing highs in the forties, but this is California), but I put my duofold shorties in for the NorCal Rabble Kilt night tonight.

The high here tomorrow will be 14 F, but we will have a 21 mph wind out of the WNW causing a wind chill factor of -7 F. There is a danger of frostbite to exposed skin in these conditions. I'll be wearing an 8 yard 16 oz wool kilt, and wool hose, but I'll spend the day indoors except for stepping out for an occasional smoke. When I do, I'll pull the hose up over the knees.

We have rain this morning. I'm getting ready to go out and walk a bit on the coast, however, since the current wind speed is 24mph and gusting to 39mph, I will not be in a kilt.

One Christmas, during a parade, our pipe major's long johns fell to his ankles...right in front of the TV camera!

Been kilted for about 85% of the time we've been below freezing. As long as you've warm socks (if needed, layer an extra pair), keep your head warm, and wear a jacket, you should be ok.
Oh, and if you need extra wool socks, go to the Sock Dreams store near the Ross Island bridge. Tell them that John from Duvall, WA sent you there.

Been in the 20s all weekend was out and about kilted. Amazing howmany people in thin pants remarked that I must be cold. told them the 8 yard wraped story, and I was wearing a full plaid as well.

The day started out overcast and in the 60's (F). Then around 0950 the skies opened and a hard, but brief rain. Then by noon things had cleared, and now at 2150, it is down to the high 30's and a sharp freeze is expected for tonight. Ah the joys of a Carolina winter in the Cape Fear River Valley.
