Even before I wore the kilt with anything like the frequency I now do, I did make a point of wearing it to see each new year in - and wearing it all day on Ne'erday. The only difference now is that I have been wearing an Ancient Forsyth tank all day anyway so I don't have to rush to get changed as the old year peters out ...

We too have developed a family tradition of a hike on the local White Horse Hill on New Year's Day and I will certainly be kilted for that - I'd be too cold out on the exposed hill without the kilt

Especially if you were regimental!

Well, I just completed a New Year's toast at TNT Fitness and Body, with a dram of Lagavulin.
An excellent way to salute the year, and ring in the next.
Happy New Year, brethren!

It is VERY windy with strong, howling winds in the DC/NoVA/MD area and at freezing temperatures. So be careful, stay warm and have a great time indoors.
Happy New Year to all my fellow XMTS-ers.

Not this year, I'm afraid - I still have another three hours on this shift, and right back tomorrow morning.

Oh, how I love working New Year's.
A few years ago a little girl was killed in Phoenix as a result of midnight random gun fire. We now have a law -- but some people still don't get it. Someone did pay to put billboards up this year warning people. I believe that they now have gunfire detection devices that can pinpoint the source of the shot. Am I correct on that?
My thoughts and prayers are with you!

As a matter of fact, I will be kilted when the festivities begin. Being in Hawaii, I get to be one of the last on the forum to celebrate the ringing in of the New Year.
Quite frankly, if I went to the bar where I'm going, and I didn't wear my kilt, no one would recognize me!

Did not manage to get dressed up, rasaframentalessenran, the boss decided we need to go get dinner and a movie instead of the church get together, so I bagged the new PC in favor of pair of jeans and a cowboy shirt and off to see Marley and Me.
Cried my eyes out. The film is set right at the same time my wife and I went through the new dog, new house, new baby, new job deal (early '90's), brought back a lot of memories. Very good movie. As John (the author) says where else will you receive absolute unconditional Love, every day, just because you are.... there.... God Bless our dogs.
