Well, not exactly a "how-to" but here is a quick snapshot of the round closing I described above. You are looking at the inside of the back cantle. You also see that the snap back has been inset into the leather and a leather cover placed over it.



The second photo is of the outside of the back of the sporran. this is the softy buffalo I mentioned. It goes all the way to the top of the cantle and then turns over the edge. It is then round closed (that's what you're seeing in the first photo).



Anyway..fast shots, pardon the quality...hope this clarifies things a bit.
