I always make a practice design on a scrap of leather before I try a new design on a sporran. Helps to determine what you want to change on the important item cause there is little chance to correct a design after you carve or stamp it.

That is very good advice. I was told not to double-stamp to try to correct anything. Test twice and stamp once.
