I knew you would come through BeloitPiper.

Is this a great bunch of people or what?

Now, can you change it to mean "Family" in the sense of Immediate Wife and Kids only instead of "Family" in the sense of the whole Clan?

Or perhaps something like "My Family (Wife and Kids) over or before my Friends." "Family before friends"

Yeah, "clann" is like what it sounds like - a clan. "Teaghlach" is family in the smaller sense. Just replace teaghlach for clann and you're all good.

    My tuppence worth:

Although the "nuclear family" concept is a peculiarly modern and English speaking one and as such doesn't really exist in Irish, Teaghlach ("household", all the people under one roof) is closest.

Teaghlach thar cairde - Family before friends
Strange idea though.... It almost sounds like an insult to your friends.... Can you clarify the concept?

Teaghlach thar gach rud - Family first, family above everything
