Limited funds and a desire to spend intersect in frustrating ways. I didn't need a new mobile phone - but I wanted one. AU$540 later and I've been enjoying it for about 3 weeks. (The upgrade was from a Sony Ericsson K610 to a Sony Ericsson G900.)
The thing is, see, I could have spent that money on a new kilt or two. I'm still not sure if I did or did not make the right choice.

L that's for "learner"! Next time keep your old phone and invest in a quality, hand sewn kilt. The kilt, unlike you newest toy, won't be superseded by technology, won't go out of fashion, and will attract the fair sex. Hmmm. Wait. You bought a phone instead of a kilt? Maybe that L doesn't mean learner after all....

Hang your head in shame laddie! I would have bought a less expensive phone, and a kilt!

Aye. I took a few weeks to research what I wanted. The outlay was because I couldn't purchase it subsidised through my mobile telephony provider.

But (returning to topic) I've set my sights a bit lower on the next kilt. I was aiming for a Black Shadow Heavyweight from SWK; now my next goal is probably going to be a Casual from USAK.

Not to rub anyones face in this...oh heck, of course that's what I'm doing!!! I trade out free phones on my morning show. Right now am enjoying the Palm Treo. All at the phone companies expense. I'm working currently on trying to get free massage therapy school and have already gotten vision upgrade with free lasik surgery. And yes, I will wh**e my self out at the drop of a hat.

It gets worse... I strongly suspect (but could not confirm) that if I'd gone looking only a few months earlier, I would have got a G900 in my local Optus store. If you know what to look for, they have a distinctive feature on the front panel and I do remember seeing that on a phone when I *just* started looking months before.

We all have to make difficult life decisions from time to time. Some work out, some we live to regret bitterly.
 Consider:
iPod: Average life span: Two to three years.
Cell phone: Average life span: Four years.
Kilt: Average life span: your lifetime, then some.

I know which is the better investment!
