I am sorry that Gordon's ordering system got screwed up and you got aced out of what we all thought was a great deal. I too felt that way for a bit, as you can tell from my previous posts, especially in light of the fact that I was the first to see the advert on Saturday and consider posting it then, but did not as when I saw it they had not listed it as single or double width, so I instead sent an email to verify that before posting. Instead of getting an email back I found out when someone else posted the next day, which is when I first offered to go in halfsies with anyone, and got a PM from Thistledown offering me half of his 8 meters. Although there was some confusion around that deal it, as played out in the earlier posts, worked out that I got that half after all. Currently it is in Thistledowns hands being sent directly to Barb T for her to work her magic on it for both T-down and myself.
As I stated in a previous post I like the tartan and would enjoy having a kilt in it, but I am not married to the idea, and if you have a strong desire for it I would like to help you out and help make Gordon's original then retracted sale to you good by offering you my half of Thistledown's 8 yards, at the costs he is/was going to sell it to me for, even up (fabric plus shipping). Only issue is that it is on its way to Barb T for kiltmaking, and I do not know if that would be your wishes or not. If not you would have to arrange with Barb to ship it back across the pond to you for you to do with as you wish.
This not an idle gesture---I am quite serious, so please feel free to take me up on it. I have some other projects in the works and this one only became acute becasue the tartan suddenly became available at a great price at an unexpected time. I am relatively new to the kilt world, and already have several, and several more on the way without counting the Maple Leaf, so I am quite contented either way. I would look at it as one xmarker offering another a gesture of friendship with no strings attached, other than I would like to see you in a picture wearing that kilt with with a big smile when alll is said and done. That would be reward enough for me. Let me know and I will work it out with T-down and Barb T.
