I believe that the mill that Paul mentioned, Marton Mills, is located in Yorkshire and has it's material woven domestically. I have dealt with this mill and had great service. I would recommend them to anyone. They do ask that you inspect the cloth when you receive it and contact them if there is a problem. I have never had to do that as I have found I have found their product top notch.
I have never dealt with F&K, but I have always heard positive comments about them. I don't like ordering material online and would prefer to speak with the mill directly (which means sometimes getting up rather early to call due to time difference) so I can confirm they have the material or get a first hand opinion on the wait time.
I hope Alex can find some MLT tartan. It is a gorgeous one to wear.
