    Aughh!

    (1) Yes, please request selvedge if at all possible. I suspect Marton will make good, but otherwise some kind of monetary adjustment is in order.

Please do point out that many/most of the recipients make kilts---that is to say, we buy wool on a regular basis. I have a lovely piece of Marton Mills Jura on my table at this moment. I also have two kilts from Rocky's special orders of PV, and I love them.

My wish-list for 2009 includes a couple more kilt lengths of Marton's very nice wool tartan. If they don't make good, those orders are goin' elsewhere. I may just have to force myself to accept Lochcarron 16 ounce for one of them. I'll also have to save my pennies for it, but toujours gai, Archie... toujours gai.

I'm not part of the order, but is it possible only the first bolts are like that and not all, but since it's a special tartan, could they even sell it elsewhere? Could this be an opportunity for those of us that didn't get in early to get a 'piece' depending on how this plays out?

ARRRGH! Another delay. I would prefer that they had gotten it right the first time. However, I am not making my own kilt and my vote is weaker as a result. For my kiltmaker---send it back and get kilt selvedge.

Oh man...... I was planning on having my kiltmaker hem this one anyway, so its no skin off my nose and I would happily accept it as is. However, its plain to see how this is going down with the rest of the membership. Maybe if there were enough of us to whom this is not an issue, one bolt could be kept and the rest returned. (Just trying to be creative and limit the jones factor.) Or what if my 3 yards just happened to fall off of the bolt? There'd be no sense sending that itty bitty piece back then, eh? Just my two bits
    I've kilt for less.

The impression I got from sathor's post was that he was asking if he should be keeping his eyes open for potential "remnants" style sell from Marton looking to get rid of the material they goofed on, rather than asking if Steve now "has extra."

    I could be wrong.

The only other comment I have is that on the one PV kilt (where the tartan also came from MM, I believe), the selvage is not real good anyway and the kilt still looks hemmed.

    Please Note

Steve requested that those that had ordered and paid for weigh in with their opinions on this issue.

Let's keep posts to this thread for those that have ordered and paid for the fabric.

    Cheers

Hmm.. I just realized that my philosophical musings may not have been clear enough in answering Steve's question directly. Therefore, here is my brief reply.

Option 1. Please. (I can wait longer, I really don't mind).

    1) Return all the fabric and demand it be re-woven with a Kilt Selvedge.
