I can't say what trouble a U.S. service man would be in, but I am greatly surprised that the guard reacted at all to him. Aren't they trained to ignore such? But I still cheer for the guard and (personally) think the kid deserved ALLOT more than he got.

No they are not trained to ignore such, they are just ordered to ignore it, and while it shouldn't have happened, we have no idea how much he had already put up with. The laughter wouldn't have helped either. I enjoyed seeing the kid getting his come-uppance.

I know nothing about the area, so someone correct me if I'm wrong on this. The area where this happened is probably covered by surveillance cameras. Therefore the Guards superiors would have an unbiased view of not only the incident, but the events leading up to it.

I, equally, don't know for sure, but I would think thay are in place. However, the cameras are run by the local constabulary. Whether the military authorities have access to that footage or not, is a different matter.
I would suspect that they would not, bureaucracies being what they are.

I would think that some yobo taunting a Coldstream guard wouldn't warrant closer scrutiny due to it happening so frequently.
