Thanks for everyone's comments, this was a book I enjoyed working on.
When I get a book that is in a sorry state I have a whole series of decisions to make about the level of repair or rebinding or designer work. Sometimes the client simply wants to book to be rebound in a form that it can be used, sometimes if it is an historic family book, it's important that those things are kept securely, but perhaps they don't need an expensive binding.Sometimes the book is very important and deserves a very special binding.
Thanks F-HCAG ~I'll pm you about further thoughts , but I thought other might be interested in the basics of the process. Of course the bottom line is- the more work the more money, no surprises there!!
