I won't even ask if it's appropriate for Shetland pony races. That's a no-brainer.
Now, who would win a race: Ditka, a mini-horse or runewolf in a kilt? And it's a regular-sized Ditka, not a mini-Ditka.
With my bum ankle, the horse would win hands down unless I tripped and fell on it lol

Is Ditka giving the horse a head start?

I may be to young to know the rules of proper dress but I will put in my two cents anyway. Let's break this down a minute. I know think there is any such thing as semiformal or formal. So there is daywear which would be tweed jackets and waistcoats and when I say daywear I do not mean dressed up at all, I mean like put it on and go to work clothes. There is morning wear which would be wool barathea argyll jackets (in a dark colour), and there is evening dress like ones doublets and PC jackets. The last are too be reserved strictly for after 6 pm. So I would go with wool barathea jacket.

McMurdo's outfit would be my choice. You can't beat simple elegance.

No, but the horse is driving the Bears team bus. Riding the bus are Mike Singletary, Jim McMahon, Richard Dent, Walter "Sweetness" Payton and Steve McMichael. Who wins?

Ok, let's make this interesting.
Prior to arriving at the horse race, Ditka has just participated in (and won) the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii. Upon accepting his medal, he rows an outrigger canoe from Hawaii back to California, where he then must rent a 1990 Yugo with a bad clutch to drive to Churchill Downs for the race. He drives straight through with no sleep, no food and no restroom breaks. He drives the Yugo up to the starting line and steps out of the car to hear the starter's gun go off. Now who wins?
Oh -- and now runewolf isn't wearing just any kilt: it's an Isle of Skye. And he's riding the very Vespa scooter Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn rode in "Roman Holiday."

Ditka wins in record time pulling the vespa with his teeth.

It's a reference to the old Superfans skits on snl. Can't find them on youtube (nbc/snl pulls them off immediately) or I'd give a link.
(Example from the skit: Who would win in a race, Ditka or God? Trick question: Ditka is god.)
