Going to agree here. Even though snaps are better than velcro, I still wouldn't trust anything I couldn't replace with the cash I have on my to a pocket, even if they were permanent.
That said, depending on how/what you shoot, if you only need one lens, those pockets will be awesome for film, lens cloth, light meters, press passes, multi-tools, and whatever else you have to carry around.
