Gee, I missed it too. Sadly, they'll always be with us. For a definition I'd include a streak of masochism in some - wanting/needing to be humiliated, beaten, or otherwise made to suffer.

For some, the disruption is meant to trigger the response they crave. When that is the case saving the return flame may be more effective than blasting them as they're dealt with.

Old joke goes, "Sadist and masochist walking down the street. Masochist to sadist, 'Beat me, beat me.' Sadist to masochist, 'No way.'"

But thanks to the front line of defense that spot and alert.
