    First "official" foray out!!

Big day Sunday for me. I have worn the kilt to the gym and to work and around home. No big risk there. But Sunday as Mrs. bone had all my pants soaking in the pre-wash, I put on the UK as I usually do. But errands needed to be run and with no pants I had one option. And I will not go out in public in sweat pants.

Before I left, the Mrs. gave me a quick but through kilt check.

First stop was at her work to check her schedule for this week. Saw one of her co-workers. Not a peep.

Next was Shopko, to purchase a video for my grandson, Again no words at all. Several sideways glances, yes,

then to the Grocery Store for the stuff to make clam chowder. I asked one of the checkers who I know, "Can I ask you a question" She replied with, "if it's do I look nice in a kilt, the answer is yes"!

Next on to my daughters apt. with her laundry and even she didn't have anything to say. Which is a surprise, since just about everything I do embarrases her.

then off to another grocery store, no response, and a drug and sundries store for a hand mixer. The clerk, a young fella bout 20 or so stared at me for a couple of seconds, but that was it.

then after I got home and forgot the french bread, back to the first store where another checker I know, Said, "You wear that kilt proud"...then gave me a somewhat surprising kilt check!!

I finally went with the advice most everyone has had..."Just Do It"

What a great day! and the Clam Chowder was excellent!

And thus beginns the addiction in full.

All in all, it sounds like a great first experience. As you get more confident, I think you will find you get a lot more direct feedback from folks.

So which kilt check was more entertaining?

You've taken your first step to a life of freedom. Or more freedom. Keep at it & don't look back. After awaile you'll go in somewhere in jeans & will be asked "why arn't you in your kilt?"

What a great first outing. Sounds like you're hooked now. BTW I'm sure you picked the correct option on the kilt check answer.
