True, the Kingdom of Dal Riata was originally Irish (populated by the Scoti). It eventually spread to the west coast of Scotland (Alba) which is how the Scots got to Scotland.
In Chicago, when I'm wearing a kilt, about half the folks who question me ask if I'm Irish. I'll be wearing my Irish National tartan on St. Patrick's Day.
