We have a rather large, but dispersed, group of kilties in Georgia and the Southeast in general. There's a couple down your way as a matter of fact. We usually arrange a time and day to meet up at Stone Mountain. The Lamont tent has been gracious to allow our rabble to congregate there. The first year there were only a few guys but the crowd is growing so well and includes fellow X-markers from the West coast and up North making the trip for the games. I think this past year we had about between 15 and 20 lads and lassies meet up and a handful of others who we ran into milling around the games.

THe gathering time will be advertised here so jsut keep an eye out for a thread about Stone Mountain as we get closer to October.

Through the rest of the year we try and organize some kind of monthly gathering. Usually in Atlanta but we are wanting to get a rotation of locations setup at the various extremes of "the realm" to help those of us far out from Atlanta get together. Keep an eye out for S.E.K.S. threads (Southeastern Kilt Society) for those dates and times. The last one was up here in Braselton at Paddy's Irish Pub and I think we are looking at doing one down town for St. Paddy's Day for March.

The Conyers guys have been hosting a Burns Dinner last 3 years that has grown into a great annual event.

Sorry, that was more information than you might have been looking for but looking forward to meeting you at one of the events.

Several of us have been going to the Stone Mountain games for years. They are said to be the second largest in North American, after Grandfather Mountain. There is so much to see and too that it's hard to take it all in two days, at a leisurely pace.

The closest games to you I would guess are (or were) in Culloden, Georgia.

Where in SE Georgia are you? I am 1/4 wiregrass and have more relatives there than I can count.
