In terms of what to wear when working a clan tent, I just think it is important to remember that you are there representing your clan. Therefore I think it is more important in this context to wear a proper clan tartan than it would be otherwise. For example, if I were working a tent for the Clan Armstrong, it would be important for me to wear my Armstrong tartan kilt, and not my MacQuarrie tartan kilt, even though I also have MacQuarrie anscestors, or my Carolina tartan kilt, even though I am from North Carolina.
Also, again because you are representing your clan, I think it would be important to dress respectably and put forward a good, professional image. This does not mean one must wear a tie and jacket (though that would certainly be appropriate), but just to make sure you present a more polished image.
Sometimes Games attendees, especially in the very warm climes, will be seen sporting their kilts with t-shirt and sandals. Nothing wrong with this for the person just attending the games to have a good time, but if you are there representing an organization, I would want to put your best foot forward. A golf/polo shirt or safari shirt would be ok. Kilt hose pulled up, not scrunched down. And above all, wear a smile!
