I thank all of you for sharing your stories. I have yet to venture out in public wearing my kilt, as I type this, I am wearing my casual kilt from USA Kilts in the Tara tartan. It's not that I fear wearing out, it that I really have not had the opportunity yet. I am sure this small town with it's deep German roots will not have much to say to me, since I could really care less anyones opinion about my style of attire.
I will say my girlfriend who is Mexican has no problem with me wearing it, as long as I do not go "regimental" that due to a previous encounter at some public event a young man was wearing a kilt and to say it bluntly... He was not sitting very lady like.. She saw more than she wanted and as she put it.. My bits are for her eyes only...LOL
I am going to Bryan/College Station tomorrow for work, and I will be there through the week. I might have to wear the kilt for the Aggies (B/CS is home to Texas A&M). I just want to wear it properly even of it's casual.
