Thanks for all of your inputs. I really appreciate it. I have been dropping hints to the wife. Hopefully, she picked up on it. The birthday is approaching.

English Bloke, I have been in contact with Redshank and I did look into the Tyneside Scottish. And you are correct, I just can't afford it. If you do rob a bank and you decide to get one, order some of the tartan for me.

I also agree with you about the Newcastle Tartan also. Too bad only one mill carries it. However, it is my wifes favorite adult malt beverage. Maybe she will get the hint.

Don't worry, whichever one I get, I'll let you all know.

Remember, some kiltmakers such as Matt Newsome, Kathy Lare and Barb Tewksbury can get small batch runs of specific tartans that may not be offered by the larger kilt makers. I would bet anyone of them could get a run of the Tyneside Scottish tartan or the Newcastle tartan for you.
