ardchoille, I'd like to see the new one, too. Here is my pleat view

It is built as a cylinder---this one has the optional top-stitched fell---and the pleats are gathered at the waist with elastic.
It's great for yard work; in fact, as the name implies, they were developed for athletes. Mine has no reverse pleat, but the grand-daddy of all deep pleats. Gonzo casual:
[1] The Web site used to say "poly-blend" and we speculated a great deal about the composition. Feels like a nice, soft cotton-polyester. Since last year, it says "poly-viscose." I have a newer one which feels similar to the old (2007 vintage). It feels slightly lighter than the Marton Mills PV, and heavier than some of the inexpensive ones I have seen.
Now that is a mighty fine looking kilt!
I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them here.. had too much to do today, but thank goodness I had a comfortable kilt to do the chores in

Man, I need one of those. I am really not looking forward to competing in the Highland games wearing my one and only tank. In fact Im down right not wanting to do it! I wish I had more time to borrow one from someone who lived around here or something...If I get it messed up- its mah ***! My wife will kill me...literally. My only saving grace is, I work in avaition and have access to some really powerful degreasers and appolstery cleaners that won't damage it...hopefully won't be nessessary. =?

I added a pic to the first post.
I threw the new Sport Kilt on (was wearing a tank) to take the picture and ended up wearing it today because it's just so comfortable. I'll be buying more of these in different tartans (heads up Seamus!), but I think next time I am going to upgrade to the fringed panel and straps because it just looks so much better as seen with this same tartan in fluter's post.

Congrats! I used to have 2 Sport Kilts, but my fave was stolen by my brother-in-law after he "borrowed" it to wear in Hawaii on vacation over the Holidays. They are great for warm weather fun! Enjoy!

That was a "works" model. Just for the record, I removed the straps from that one! Sorta defeats the advantage of Velcro. I have vacillated about the various add-on options, I think I like the belt loops and the stitched-down pleats. Fringe could go either way, but it was very nicely executed on my MacGregor SK.
The new side pockets are pretty nifty, for a kicking around the house and yard kilt!
