I have 2 pices of 3,5 mtr dobble width. My idea is to make a full tank with a good rice to formal wear and a more casual kilt for daywear and hiking. I'm tinking of doing the formal kilt with the red stripe, and the casual to the sett.

That sounds good. You should definitely stitch them by your hands. This is what serves me the best way, having the same problems with shipping cost and taxes.
