A black man in a kilt can look pretty sharp. Many AAs may even be associated with a tartan, because many African Americans have Scottish or Scots-Irish last names. Even if you don't have a kinship bond, there are plenty of appropriate tartans than can be worn by anyone. I encourage you to wear the kilt sir.
