    Kilt fit tolerances...

So I'm about to order a 4-yard heavyweight casual kilt from Matt Newsome and have a question for those more 'in the know' than I. My natural waist measures just over 32". How much variation is there in the fit of the kilt from this benchmark measurement, given the adjustability of the buckles? With my 32" Stillwater Standards I have a decent amount of adjustability either way, depending on whether or not I have a shirt tucked in. I assume there is some measure of adjustability with a custom kilt as well? Just trying to make sure everything is measured and accounted for properly before I order.

There is only one person to ask this question. And that is Matt himself.

There is a guideline you never want to get too far from.

Use only the measurement system of the person who will be making your Kilt.
If you have a question, go directly to the person who will be making your Kilt.
If you have a problem, go directly back to the person who made your Kilt.

When poking around before buying my kilt, I found some makers that said they shot to put your measurement smack in the middle of the strap, others would put it on the tight end so you had room to grow as so many of us inevitably do. Even in "normal" clothing like p##ts different brands fit differently. So like Steve said, only Matt can answer for you

As others have said but to add one comforting note, Matt will take care of you, so no worries there. Ask as many questions as you need. Kilt wearers are notorious for wanting to know every detail about their kilt, from it's tartan origins to it's construction to how to wear it and look your best Enjoy

You are going to get Matt to measure you, right? Do your own measurements, by all means, so you can tell him if your waistline ebbs and flows a little bit; but get on over to the shop and be measured by a pro!

While you're both at it, he will answer all your questions, and then some.
