Good grief, how many washings does it take to soften this thing? Mine's been washed and softened over a dozen times and it's still fairly stiff. I feel like I need to take it down to the creek and beat it against the rocks or something. Is there some technique I can use to loosen it up more quickly?

BTW, for those misaligned snaps you might try what I've done as I've lost weight and found that the snaps are located incorrectly for my new size. I just put hook-and-loop tape [like Velcro®] in the waistband so I can wrap the kilt more tightly, and I don't fasten the snaps at all. They just become decorative at that point.
