I'm not really bothered either way, I think it would be a good thing, and certainly more inventive than north and south, also Moari never refer to the islands on Marae as N & S in their greetings, always as the proper names.
As for Michael Laws, although I enjoy his talk back, sometimes he is a bit over the top, but thats what keeps him in council i suppose...
I wonder who it was who discovered that there were no official names for the islands. I'd love to have seen their expresion as the realisation dawned.
