in the past i had a bow tie and pc jacket/vest and thought it looked alright but i must admit i much prefer the look and style of the victorian wing tip shirt and rouche/cravat ties they go best with a 5 button wasistcoat/vest
but i reckon the bow tie looks better with a pc style waistcoat/vest compared to a 5 button waistcoat/vest

i guess in some aspects we have alot to thank the victorians for when it comes to styles of clothing that still exisit today in scotland ,granted they more or less absorbed the styles from different parts of the "empire" and copied styles from other countires into some every day usage ...but the style does it for me whereever its origins may be

Most weddings and events in Scotland every one seems to have the cravat.

You just can't beat a cravat, it beats a tie any time.

The GREAT thing T like about cravats is the VARIETY of looks you can create with how you tie it. Here is a site to start with.

NOTE 1/2 the FUN is learning how to make the "knots".

This fashion has not reached plaque proportions up here yet, but yes, I see more cravats than I used to. I cannot find any enthusiasm for those ruche tie things though.
