My shop is in a small town in Central Oregon. I used to have a UPS driver who came in nearly every day. Nice guy.
One day I got a package from a former student of mine who lived in New Brunswick. The UPS driver noticed the address and asked me where New Brunswick was. Before I could get the words out of my mouth to tell him, he looks at me with this surprised and now wary expression and says:
"Is that a communist country?"

Last summer, a woman stopped me on my way back from some local Highland Games. She complimented me on the kilt, then asked if I spoke English.

Vancouver ,WA USA was established before Vancouver, BC. and is on the Columbia River, which divides Washington and Oregon.
