Both Rocky and Ted Crocker have given you the best advice: fold your kilt.

How about simply wearing the kilt for your trip? You could pack your trousers and wear the kilt. Comfort, no need to worry about wrinkles from folding or creasing, and comfort.

If I am unable to hang the kilt while traveling, I roll it and use one of my wife's stockings to keep the roll tight. (Pour 1 malt did a tutorial on the rolling technique http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/k...x.html?t=19516.) The roll fits diagonally in my flight bag.

So how'd you like the weather the first day? Being in the center of the Clan Tent was not fun! >.<

There's always the college student method... stuff it where it fits, hoping it won't wrinkle (and it will). When you get where you're going, phone mom and ask how she's done it all these years.

Thanks, I'm going to use that idea! :-D

Kathy Lare recommends folding the way Rocky posted above. She says rolling can mess up the pleats. I have done it oth ways, and both seem to work just fine. I would not store the kilt rolled, however.
