Scooby and I are in, I'll have to check the park's website for boating information. If it looks like the conditions are appropriate, we'll bring our canoe.

We will probably be arriving early Saturday morning if this is acceptable?

Unless I can arrange a half day of work on Friday. Just do the surgeries and get out while the animals are recovering. Who knows, it just might work!
Maybe Jamie can bring all the fancy fly fishing gear his father gifted him with years ago, that he has never used, that takes up all the space in his closet that he could better dedicate to kilt stuff. Hmmm.
Be well,

Camping? Did you say camping?
Well, after much deliberation (1 minute) we decided we would give it a go too.
Put us down for three. I will bring something to secure the sunshade better than what was at the games.

Ok, I've got Monkey + 3, Panache +3, Smayniac + 1, Bunch + 3, and Mike and I, so that makes 16. Not bad, for a start.
Panache & FHCAG, please arrive whenever works for you. Just remember, we're counting on you to bring some class to this shindig...
I think maybe it would be nice to have a potluck on Saturday night. What do you think?

Great idea, as long as it is a real potluck!
Cheers

So does that let out the choice of hiking to the car and driving an hour to get a bucket of KFC?

As long as there is no discussion about that being your contribution then it is fine.
The Farlanders, The F-H.C.A.G. and I have this thing about "planned potlucks"
Either it is luck of the draw or it isn't a potluck
If everyone happens to bring a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies well then....
...hmmm...
...actually I don't see many people having an issue with that!
Cheers

Actually, Panache, I'm just too darn lazy to make up a list of what everyone should bring and then make sure they bring what they are assigned and then panic if we don't have *gasp* enough fried hedgehogs to go around.
I'll skip the drama. Bring what you want. I'll eat it or I won't. If you go hungry that's your problem.
Hmmm, fried hedgehogs....

I'm in for both nights!
My vehicle doesn't count toward the campsite's limit - Bicycles are allowed on the park's paved road, but not on the trails through the trees and along the river.
The trails are terrific for a kilted promenade (unless one wants to wander off into the wild grape, stinging nettle, and general underbrush). In October, most of the annual foliage has turned to dust, so that might not be a problem, except for the poison oak vines (which are hard to see without the leaves).
Speaking of potluck, there's bound to be something edible along the side of the road (produce stands, etc.) Of course, there's always fish in the river.

Bob, the Stanislaus River is an extremely popular tubing/rafting/boating watercourse. A canoe would be great. Floatation devices of all sorts are fun and instructive.
