Why is it that all these little strolls seem to end up in a hostelry?

My immediate thought as well. So Derek, inquiring minds want to know!

Good question Trefor. However, I do seem to recall that the first time I met Derek and Elaine it was at the Waverly Inn pub in Dumfries. They were fresh off the train from Cardiff and in the pub with their luggage and instruments.

I think perhaps they secretly work for the Home Office as official pub and footpath inspectors. They work very hard to make all our hiking to pub experiences good ones. int:

I can think of a few pubs in the US that could use some serious inspecting. Perhaps they could be loaned to the Foreign Office (I'm sure that's what they were doing on that last trip to France) and do some sleuthing over here.

    Excellent pics Derek. Thanks
