Kilt on the Perry Como show
Did anyone see this about the singing plumber who appeared on the Perry Como show in the 1950's. - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/...io/8079498.stm
Definitely a cringe-worthy experience.

Being that show was manditory in our house hold while I was growing up, the likely hood that I saw the oregional show was very good. I didn't see the latest show until just now and thank you for posting up the link.
My mum and dad watch Perry with a religous ferver as most grown ups did back in the day, and if ya wanted to watch the tv ya watched what your parents were watching.

Thanks for digging up that little chestnut. My folks were fans of that show, too, but I don't recall seeing him.

Oh, I remember him very well (too old!!) but I do not recall seeing him wearing trews - he was always kilted in the performances I saw. The "6.05 Special" BBC TV show he mentions was an early form of Top of the Pops and was always timed to begin at 6.05pm on Saturday evenings - hence the name.
He seemed to have a very short career and I often wondered what became of him.
Take care,
Ham.
