    The buttons in back are for braces. As for there not being a strap on the left...maybe it was removed at some point in its history?

    i thought bout braces but there's no similar fixing point at the front. as to the no left strap bin removed, i originally thought that but there's no hole in the left side for a strap. i googled it and some were issued like that but its the first time i've seen something like it in either genuine army or tailored kilts
