It's not my first kilt but it's definitely my first "tank" - the gestation of a human takes less time than getting this kilt

    Congratulations, Tony.

I'd done a review of the Celtic Craft Centre thread relating to all posts about dealings with CCC in the last year to refute an assertion that all in the garden was rosy. To make it simple, I colour coded them:

I'll leave you as a green until you have it in your hands! This is an edited down post of a reply to Clan MacKinnon that seems to have had the thread sent to Coventry, despite an offer to edit it. Sorry folks!

BLUE - Happily resolved (I may have erred on the generous side here, some appear more relieved than happy).

    RED - Unhappy with experience.

    Green - Unresolved, awaiting judgement.

12 May 09: St Amish reports CC credited with deposit.
2 Jun 09: St Amish reports CCC posting as bold lie in his case.

8 May 09: 530dcs - Not happy, reports lies various.

8 May 09: Paul Sharpe reports still waiting on jacket ordered Sep 08 with 2 month delivery promised.
9 May 09: Paul Sharpe reports unable to contact by phone.
17 May 09: Paul Sharpe’s dad gets email – jacked should be shipped this week.

9 May 09: Walkerk reports PS store in shambles in early Apr 09.

9 May 09: Ben Gunn – Not happy. Returns defective sporran Jun 08, gets inferior replacement after much hassle about Apr 09.

12 May 09: Drobin reports troubled purchase which worked out in the end but wouldn’t go back.

20 May 09: Joseph McLaren – Not happy, reports Edinburgh shop in shamble with empty shelves and staff ‘frosty’ in Feb 09, put off purchasing.

23 May 09: Peregrinus - Not happy: reports having ordered kilt in 2002 and more in 2005. After multi-year run-around, gets kilt out of the blue in May 09! Order still not complete and can’t contact.

4 Jul 09: Wrong kilts get sent to wrong brothers-in-law. Made of wrong tartan to boot. Happy Independence Day!

19 Jun 09: Clan McKinnon – Not happy, ordered 6 kilts less than 4 months ago, has been getting run-around.
19 Jun 09: Clan McKinnon – Ecstatic – Wife got phone call in morning saying kilts ‘should’ be shipped next week. Calls CCC still quality and reliable people despite reporting that he had been told that the kilts had been shipped in mid-May.

    I make it 12 Unhappy, 4 Happy, 3 Unresolved.

It'll be interesting to see how many come through.

Edited to update Tony Miles' story.

Even the four Bues and two Greens are not exactly happy stories as they all suffered 8-9 month waits along with poor or no communications. Those turnaround times suck. You don't have to wait that long for either a Newsome or Tewksbury handsewn, probably the two most sought after kiltmakers with the longest ques and waitlists around. I don't see a lot of "happy happy joy joy" dances from those folks, except for obvious relief after they actually get thier merchandise.

Not a stellar performance record from CCC.

I did err on the generous side with the blues, didn't want to appear too anti!

Basically, if the poster got his kit in the same decade as it was ordered and didn't say "Never Again!" they went down as a blue. Relieved may have been a better description than happy.

I know I have seemed naive and maybe over positive when it comes to my dealings with them. I am still hoping to get our kilts soon.

We got a call from Kevin at CCC last week saying the men's kilts were done and awaiting the ladies kilts which were to be done thise week and sent this week. I admit we were told in late May they were bing shipped the following week and that was not true, obviously. And I hate not knowing what is going on, it really bugs the heck out of me.

So currently I am awaiting them sending the kilts any day now and if they do then we can go to the blue color, that is happy right?

I know others who have ordered from CCC and were fine with just waiting until the product came and it did eventually, a week or so ago. I just like to know what is going on and would like to know the truth.

So I will keep you up to date and wish all those who are in the same spot I am the best of luck.

Na Heilthirich, thank you for the detailed play-by-play.

You could have adopted a child by now, or had sent by boat from another continent. Got it yet? How about now? How about now?

I got tracking numbers a few minutes ago, now I just need to know what to do with them? What web site do I use to track them?

Tony, I hope they just show up at your door today, anxious to hear your package comes and to see the pictures.
