Pretty typical, at least for the Glasgow area. When it comes to suntans, a lot of people here are determinedly stuck in the 1950's. A common opinion here is that the best way to get a tan on your two week benidorm holiday is to burn to a crisp on the first day and once all that skin peels off (! !) then keep "topping up" until you are tanned. Also, on the streets here, as soon as the sun is out, t-shirts are off and tucked into the white adidas tracksuit trousers, and boy do you get strange looks if you wear a sun-hat and long sleeves.
