Well it made it yesterday - sort of - I ended up with my brother-in-laws kilt and he ended up with mine. we only live 250 miles apart so that's not too big of a deal and I'll be going over in 3 weeks. We're about 5 inches different in girth (I'm the fat one) so his about wraps around my leg and he could use mine for a sleeping bag
The good news is that the ship time was about 9 days from Scotland, the tracking stopped at customs
The bummer is it's the wrong color/version of tartan I guess that's an easy mistake but it was explained quite clearly and even the fabric swatch from the mill was shown to them, so I'm not sure how this part will play out. It really is easy to see how the mistake could have been made by the person taking the order but it's still a bummer
So the emails and phone calls are soon to commence

Oh, wow. So now you get to wait some more. Man, I don't know if I could handle it. Let us know how they plan to fix this mess.

latest news is - yeah we can have the tartan we originally ordered BUT it's in a lighter weight and costs $150 more -
What we have isn't bad and I don't mind just keeping mine - it just isn't what we ordered 10 months ago
I'll be shipping or driving my bro-in-laws kilt to him for the "Great Kilt Swap" and my hunch is we'll just keep what we have while I research getting new ones from someone else

What specific tartan did you order, and then what did you get instead?

Mackay blue number 2, sometimes called Morgan modern - we've got Mackay blue -
The one we ordered is a deep blue almost purple-ish - what we got was light blue. It can be a bit confusing that's why we showed the person who took the order the swatch
Better than getting a goose egg i guess

Tony, I am glad you got yours and that gives me a general timeline to judge when mine might come by. Ours were shipped last Thursday which might put them here around early next week.
I am looking forward to the pics when you get yours.
